Joseph Amico, a Las Vegas resident, faced charges for threatening to harm employees of Wigdor LLP, a law firm in Manhattan. The incident occurred on April 26, when Amico reportedly made multiple phone calls to the firm, using racial slurs and threatening violence. The firm was representing Fox News employees in a racial discrimination lawsuit, which seems to have triggered Amico’s actions.

About the Trial

Amico was charged with making a terroristic threat and second-degree aggravated harassment. In court, he pleaded not guilty to the charges of aggravated harassment and making terrorist threats. His lawyer, Todd Spodek, commented on the potential for words to be misunderstood in the heated political climate.

The Case Results

Joseph Amico admitted to making the threatening calls and was promised a six-month jail sentence plus five years’ probation in exchange for his admission.
